SMIIC Secretary General, H.E. İhsan ÖVÜT and his accompanying delegation participated in Thailand Halal Assembly which was held on 09-11 December 2016 at Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC) in Bangkok, Kingdom of Thailand.

Mr. ÖVÜT and his accompanying delegation delivered presentations on OIC/SMIIC Halal Food Standards at  a special session organized as "SMIIC Halal Workshop" on 10 December 2016 which was intended for an introduction for the Manufacturers as well as implementation of OIC/SMIIC standards by Halal Certification Bodies.

SMIIC delegation also had the opportunity to answer the questions of Halal Cerfitication Bodies at Halal CB Round Table Meeting organized in the theme of Capacity building of Halal Certification Bodies, Unification of Halal Accreditation Bodies and Moving towards international Halal 4.0”

A Cooperation Agreement was also signed among The Halal Science Center of Chulalongkorn University, The Halal Institute of Thailand, The Central Islamic Council of Thailand and SMIIC.
