Vacancy Announcement for Experts to SMIIC

SMIIC General Secretariat has initiated process for the recruitment of the experts on strategy (1), training (1) and IT (1) posts. We thrive on talent, and hence encourage outstanding and success-driven individuals to submit applications even in the absence of a fit with an existing vacancy.

Applicants are requested to send their CVs with photo together with the diploma, related certificates, and documentation of language proficiency (fluency in oral and written English and Arabic and/or French languages will be preferable). Job Description

Job Description:

  1. Assists in the organization of the various publications series at the Institute
  1. Assists in the organization of conferences, workshops and other research related activities
  1. Organizes the professional training programme of the Institute
  1. Coordinates and provides all necessary logistical and organizational support in the course of research, conference and training activities
  1. Reviews training evaluation forms and prepares evaluation summaries
  1. Maintains a database of the Institute’s conferences, training participants and trainers, as well as partnering institutions, experts, and contributes to the regular updating of the Institute’s alumni database
  1. Organizes and coordinates regional/international training
  1. Assists in the research, conference and training related publications;
  1. Cares for the financial matters related to research and training activities at the Institute
  1. Performs any other tasks requested by the Secretary General or the General Secretariat.

 

Conditions of Employment:

  • Full professional proficiency in English (Spoken and written)
  • Arabic and/or French  as additional language(s) would be an asset
  • Have citizenship in one of the SMIIC Member States
  • Be younger than 45 years old at the time of application

 Experience:

  • Knowledge in training planning
  • Good working knowledge of SMIIC
  • Ability to apply a variety of training programmes to analyze challenges and guide and develop solutions
  • Ability to work in an international multicultural environment
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in training field
  • Experience in giving trainings in standardization and its related fields.

 Education and Personal Characteristics:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Engineering, Social Sciences, or a related field
  • Proven track record with training planning, development, and execution
  • Excellent communication, leadership and management skills

Job Description

Job Description:

  1. Assesses infrastructure on a regular basis to ensure it continues to meet necessary demands
  1. Manages daily operations of the IT activities
  1. Develops new strategies and IT procedures to increase efficiency, enhance workflow and improve customer satisfaction
  1. Coordinates the needs of in-house IT activities and General Secretariat staff
  1. Protects SMIIC data from outside infiltration through encryption, secure data storage and other necessary means
  1. Assists with the installation of new hardware and software and help train employees on its use
  1. Offers suggestions for possible upgrades and changes within the IT activities
  1. Carries out the successful management of the IT activities (SMIIC website, e-mails, SMIIC IS, etc.).
  1. Contributes to the promotion of the Institute by managing social media accounts and performing all necessary works
  1. Performs any other tasks requested by the Secretary General or the General Secretariat.

Job Description

Job Description:

  1. Leads the development of strategic work plans for the SMIIC, while adhering to direction set by the SMIIC General Assembly. This includes formalizing and leading the planning process, focusing on long term trends and outlook, and competitive intelligence.
  1. Facilitates the execution of the strategy by working collaboratively with Secretary General and ensuring that the strategy is communicated and easily understood by all both inside and outside the Institute. Ensures that strategic actions are completed at various levels to achieve desired results.
  1. Ensures that appropriate metrics are in place to measure and report performance and progress towards strategic goals.
  1. Acts as an advisor to Strategy Committee (BOD/SC) and Secretary General on critical changes that affect the SMIIC Strategic Plan.
  1. Engages stakeholders to learn and influence basic strategies, constantly remaining alert and forward-thinking about opportunities and risks in the quality infrastructure environment.
  1. Leads the development and implementation of consistent practices and strategic frameworks for the SMIIC Strategic Plan.
  1. Oversees the development and implementation of a knowledge management infrastructure and leads in the management of organizational knowledge as a strategic asset to further the Institute’s goals.
  1. Leads the Institute’s approach to monitoring and evaluation with a focus on the creation of an organizational dashboard that can be shared externally.
  1. Oversees key proposal development, high level communications and fundraising activities.
  1. Performs any other tasks requested by the Secretary General or the General Secretariat.
  1. Prepares necessary reports in accordance with the goals and strategies set.
  1. Prepares reports of the General Secretariat to be submitted to the Board of Directors and General Assembly in line with the outcomes of our yearly plans
