3rd International Halal and Healthy Food Congress (IHHFC)

SMIIC  delegation attended the 3rd International Halal and Healthy Food Congress (IHHFC) held on 30-31 October 2015, in İstanbul, Republic of Turkey.
SMIIC Secretary General and his accompanying delegation attended the 3rd International Halal and Healthy Food Congress (IHHFC) with the theme ‘Awareness and Sustainability in Halal and Healthy Nutrition’ held on 30-31 October 2015, in İstanbul, Republic of Turkey.

The congress was jointly organized by the SMIIC, Halal and Healthy Food Platform, Istanbul University and Konya Necmettin Erbakan University.

Mr. Övüt delivered a keynote speech highlighting the role of SMIIC as an important platform that gathers all stakeholders such as universities, fiqh scholars, standardization bodies, producers, consumers, NGOs, GOs..of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member countries and Muslim communities in non-Muslim countries etc. in order to prepare common standards that will fulfill the common needs.

In his address, Secretary General explained the latest developments and activities of the SMIIC Accreditation Committee and announced that SMIIC Accreditation Scheme will be launched by the first quarter of the 2016. Mr. Övüt finalized his speech by underlining the importance of this congress in raising awareness about Halal industry.
