OIC/SMIIC 1:2019 General Requirements for Halal Food- Foundation Training was held on the 16-18 February 2021 virtually, by the SMIIC General Secretariat and participated by 41 experts from SMIIC Member States. The training is the second of a series of training courses being held by the SMIIC General Secretariat. The training aimed to give the foundation knowledge regarding Halal food, the Halal Market, requirements and implementation of the OIC/SMIIC 1:2019 General Requirements for Halal Food

The training program included:

  • Definition of Halal Food and the current situation of the Halal market
  • Introduction to SMIICs Structure and SMIIC Organs
  • OIC/SMIIC Standards on Halal Issues and Halal Quality Infrastructure
  • Requirements and Implementation of the OIC/SMIIC 1:2019 General Requirements for Halal Food
  • Evaluation Test
